Event Learning Objectives
- Describe the three-pronged approach of EMDR therapy, which includes addressing past memory networks, current disturbance triggers, and future adaptive responses to facilitate holistic healing and recovery.
- Describe the significance of each assessment component, such as image, negative cognition, positive cognition, emotions, subjective units of disturbance scale (SUD), and sensations.
- Describe the process of executing Phase 8 - Re-evaluation in EMDR therapy, including the requisite techniques and skills necessary for assessing treatment progress and adjusting therapeutic strategies as needed.
- Explain EMDR with Illness and Somatic Disorders, focusing on how to deepen work through the connection between cognitions and body sensations.
- State the professional, legal, and ethical considerations pertinent to the practice of EMDR therapy, including scope of practice, adherence to professional standards, and obtaining informed consent.
