The EMDR Playground Immersion Experience Policy
The EMDR Playground Immersion Experience is an advanced professional development event for EMDR-trained therapists, focusing on integrating EMDR therapy with creative therapeutic modalities, including play therapy, sandtray, movement-based techniques, and nature therapy. This policy outlines the event’s adherence to high professional standards and content delivery.
1. Program Overview
1.1 Program Accreditation
This event adheres to the highest quality of training for participants.
1.2 Eligibility for Participation
Participation in the event is open to EMDR-trained therapists, and there are specific qualifications required for participation, such as the completion of an EMDRIA-Approved Basic EMDR Training.
1.3 Certification of Completion
Participants will receive a certificate of completion upon full participation and engagement in the event.
1.4 Event Materials
Speaker handouts will be available 7 days prior to Day One of the event.
Pre-event materials will be provided 30 days prior to the event to help participants prepare.
2. Content and Curriculum Requirements
2.1 Program Focus
This event provides instruction on integrating EMDR therapy with creative modalities such as play therapy, sandtray therapy, movement-based practices, and nature therapy. The content is designed to enhance therapists' tools for treating trauma and attachment wounds in children and families.
2.2 Learning Objectives
Apply EMDR techniques within a play therapy framework to facilitate trauma healing in children.
Understand the neurobiology of trauma and its impact on children, using EMDR to process trauma through creative modalities.
Integrate sandtray therapy, movement, and nature therapy with EMDR to offer new pathways to healing through creative expression.
Enhance therapeutic presence and somatic awareness in EMDR work, fostering emotional regulation and safety within the therapeutic process.
2.3 Delivery Methods
This event will feature keynote presentations, experiential workshops, small group discussions, case reviews, and practical exercises to engage participants in applying EMDR techniques creatively.
2.4 Experiential Components
Some experiential activities (e.g., nature walks, sandtray work, movement-based sessions) are optional and intended to enhance personal experience and integration. These activities do not count towards official credit but enrich the learning experience.
3. Trainer Qualifications
All presenters are experienced, EMDR-trained professionals with specialized expertise in integrating EMDR with play therapy and other creative approaches. Trainers bring clinical experience and teaching expertise to ensure relevance and applicability.
4. Ethical and Professional Standards
The event adheres to a professional Code of Ethics to ensure a professional, ethical, and safe learning environment.
Training materials are culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and inclusive. The event fosters a respectful environment free from discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected statuses.
4.1 Reasonable Accommodations
The event complies with ADA guidelines and provides reasonable accommodations to ensure accessibility.
5. Record Keeping and Documentation
Attendance records and documentation will be maintained for a minimum of five years.
Certificates of Completion will be issued to participants meeting the event requirements.
Feedback evaluations will be conducted at the end of the event to inform program improvements.
6. Evaluation and Feedback
Participant feedback is collected to refine future events and ensure training quality. Feedback will be reviewed to improve future learning experiences.
7. Non-Discrimination and Equal Access
The EMDR Playground Immersion Experience is inclusive and supportive of all participants. We are committed to equal access and treating all participants with respect, dignity, and fairness.
8. Cancellation and Refund Policy
8.1 Cancellation by Participant
45+ days before the event: Partial refund minus a $250 non-refundable administrative fee.
Less than 45 days before the event: No refund unless the seat is filled. If filled, a refund will be issued minus a $250 administrative fee.
No refunds after the event begins.
Refund requests for medical emergencies or extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the event provider. Documentation may be required.
8.2 Event Cancellation
If the event is canceled by the organizer, participants will receive a full refund or may transfer their registration to a future event at no additional cost.
If a scheduled speaker is unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, best efforts will be made to secure a qualified replacement. While we do not anticipate changes, this ensures that participants still receive high-quality training.
9. Liability and Responsibility
By registering, participants acknowledge that experiential activities (e.g., nature-based exercises, movement, sandtray work) are optional and undertaken at their own risk.
The event organizers are not liable for any injury or harm that may occur during these activities.
Participants agree to hold the event organizers, presenters, and affiliates harmless from any liability, injury, or loss incurred during the event.
Organizers commit to providing a safe and professional learning environment while encouraging participants to take personal responsibility for their safety.
