About this event

reWILDing

Play, Sandtray, and EMDR Therapy Integration

2nd Generation

A Transformative 5-Day Retreat-Style Training for EMDR Therapists

Hosted at Momma Owl’s Minis | Molina, Florida

Heal Generations. Transform Lives. Reconnect to What Matters.

This isn’t just a training...it’s a MOVEMENT.

What ReWILDing means here

ReWILDing is the return to what heals when survival has narrowed the nervous system.

It brings trauma work back to the places where real processing happens.

In the body.

In rhythm and bilateral flow.

In symbol, story, and play.

In Sandtray worlds that hold what words cannot.

In the natural world as co regulator and teacher.

In lineage, meaning, and intergenerational repair.

In this training, ReWILDing is not a theme or a vibe.

It is a clinical orientation you will learn to apply with skill, structure, and care.

All required training information including learning objectives, session descriptions, continuing education details, and instructor credentials can be found in the Agenda and CE Information tabs on the main training page.

Led by Jackie Flynn, Alisha Denham, and Catherine Denham, this sacred 5-day experience will shift the way you do therapy—forever.

In this reWILDing experience, we apply these concepts through play with past, present, and future as we

  • PLAY with art that lets past, present, and future stories show up through paint, drawing, and making cool things.
  • PLAY with sand as we build and process sandtrays that hold where we came from, where we are now, and where we are headed.
  • PLAY with story as we follow the thread of a client’s history into their current life, their relationships, and their growing edges.
  • PLAY with words through poetry, music, rhythm, and other expressive approaches that give voice to pain, resilience, and hope.
  • PLAY our way through all eight phases of EMDR therapy in a way that weaves together play therapy, sandtray, nature, and the body’s natural pull toward healing across the lifespan.

Who this is for

ReWILDing is built for therapists across pathways. If you are drawn to this work, you belong here.

EMDR trained clinicians

You want an advanced integration that stays true to AIP and all 8 phases, while widening the doorways clients use to access and complete processing.

EMDR curious clinicians

You want a clear, embodied understanding of EMDR and how ReWILDing supports trauma healing across settings, even if you have not completed basic training yet.

Play therapists and creative clinicians

You already know that play and creativity reach what talk cannot. You want to integrate that power with trauma processing in a more structured, nervous system informed way.

Sandtray therapists

You want to deepen clinical precision and learn how Sandtray supports targets, phases, and integration, indoors and outdoors, across populations.

Nature based and somatic clinicians

You are already working with the body and the living world. You want a coherent framework that connects what you do to trauma resolution with structure and safety.

We train as one ReWILDing community. The only difference is continuing education eligibility. Details will be shared in the CE menu once approvals are finalized.

Why therapists come to reWILDing

You already know trauma resolution can happen.

You also know that many clients cannot get there through words alone, or through an office chair alone.

When trauma stays in the head, clients plateau.

When the body is missing, targets stay distant.

When symbolism is missing, the nervous system has fewer routes to speak.

When the living world is ignored, we miss one of the oldest regulators humans have.

And when cases stall, you carry the weight home with you.

reWILDing gives you ethical, phase aligned ways to keep healing moving.

Not by adding noise, but by restoring the pathways humans have always used to metabolize pain and return to wholeness.

Your guides

Led by Jackie Flynn, Alisha Denham, and Catherine Denham.

Together we bring decades of experience in EMDR, Sandtray, play therapy, and nature based trauma work.

You will be taught with warmth, precision, and real world clinical integrity.

Your reWILDing plan

Step 1

Learn the ReWILDing framework across EMDR, play, and Sandtray.

Step 2

Practice it indoors and outdoors through live demonstrations and small group work.

Step 3

Leave with a repeatable method you can use with any population and in any setting.

What makes this training different

EMDR, Sandtray, and play are fully integrated throughout the entire training.

You will not learn them as separate pieces. You will learn how they work together in real clinical moments, across all 8 phases and across all five days.

We teach and practice the integration in two places on purpose.

  • Inside with clients in the therapy room.
  • Outside with clients in natural spaces and the living world.

That means you will see, feel, and practice what it looks like to

  • use EMDR structure while Sandtray and play open access to targets,
  • keep desensitization moving through standard EMDR protocols supported by symbolism and sensory regulation,
  • resource and stabilize through play and nature based nervous system support,
  • translate the same clinical precision into outdoor sessions, walking bilateral work, and nature anchored integration.

Ready to join. Scroll to the bottom to register.

How the reWILDing EMDR looks in real clinical moments

A client cannot find words for the target.

You invite a Sandtray scene or a play based symbolic entry. The inner world shows itself without forcing language.

You track NC, SUD, VOC, and body location, and stay anchored in phase structure.

You move into phase 4 with standard protocol, sometimes supported by natural bilateral movement outdoors.

The memory begins to shift.

You install the adaptive belief through embodied, symbol aligned integration.

You close with regulation that fits the nervous system and the setting, then reevaluate with felt sense and clear clinical markers.

That braid is ReWILDing. It is fidelity plus aliveness.

What you will learn across the 8 phases

You will watch it, feel it, practice it, and leave able to use it.

Each phase is taught in three ways. Standard EMDR structure, ReWILDing inside the office, and ReWILDing outside in nature.

What does reWILDing EMDR entail?

Phase 1 history taking

AIP informed history taking that includes body tracking, environment attunement, and lineage mapping. You will practice how to listen for intergenerational threads and translate them into targets and treatment planning.

Phase 2 preparation

Nature based and play informed resourcing that builds safety and readiness through rhythm, movement, sensory support, and symbolic regulation. You will practice preparation sequences with real pacing and guardrails.

Phase 3 assessment

Assessment through talk, Sandtray, drawing, and movement while staying anchored in NC, PC, VOC, SUD, and body location. You will watch live demos, then practice in small groups.

Phase 4 desensitization

Standard protocols supported by walking bilateral stimulation, tactile and auditory nature based BLS options, and play informed bilateral activities that remain inside EMDR pacing. You will participate in live EMDR demonstrations indoors and outdoors.

Phase 5 installation

Installation that makes adaptive beliefs embodied. Somatic anchoring and symbolic acts strengthen the adaptive network rather than decorate it. You will practice clean installation sequences.

Phase 6 body scan

Somatic precision with nature and Sandtray as sensory mirrors when residual disturbance is hard to name. You will practice tracking, clearing, and completing the scan.

Phase 7 closure

Closure that stabilizes through rhythm, ritual, and nervous system settling. Office based and outdoor closure sequences that fit any client and setting.

Phase 8 reevaluation

Reevaluation with whole brain awareness, felt sense, and symbolic check ins that support long arc healing, including intergenerational repair markers.

What the experience includes

  • Live EMDR ReWILDing demonstrations
  • You will watch full sessions taught through ReWILDing so you can see timing, language, pacing, and clinical fidelity in real time.
  • Experiential Sandtray and play integration
  • You will learn facilitation and be in the work yourself. The method becomes real in your own nervous system.
  • Outdoor nervous system and bilateral practice
  • You will practice nature based regulation and bilateral movement in ways you can translate to any environment, including indoor offices.
  • You will also have steady space for reflection, consultation, and integration held with depth and safety.

Schedule at a glance

The training runs Wednesday through Sunday, with full days Wednesday and Thursday, slightly shorter deep dive days Friday and Saturday, and a half day Sunday that closes with reflection and integration. Each day builds the ReWILDing arc from grounding and orienting, to bridging past and present, to deepening emotional healing, to nervous system and neurobiology focused practice, and finally a closing ceremony that helps you carry the work back into your clinical life.
